The Business of Design Interviews: Year in Review
Studio Designer CEO Keith Granet had the esteemed pleasure of interviewing some of the most illustrious talents in the interior design industry this year with The Business of Design Interview Series, beginning and ending with two extraordinary designers named Suzanne. The series marked the 10th anniversary of Keith’s book The Business of Design, an essential compendium for ambitious designers and design firms seeking to get to the next level.

The extraordinary Suzanne Kasler of Suzanne Kasler Interiors continues to impress the trade with such timeless, classic designs and her enviable signature lines. Suzanne loves to mix high and low and her love of France truly comes across in her splendid home and furniture designs.
The ever-glamorous Jan Showers of Jan Showers Interiors has risen to the top of the design world with her distinct take on luxury interior design. Based in Dallas, Jan and her team beautifully layer items and mix styles that makes her rooms cozy and aspirational. She shared, “Design should relate to the way we live—it also should be beautiful, glamorous, comfortable and luxurious, even when very casual.”
Interior designer Edward Yedid of Grade New York is known for the firm’s aspirational and deeply luxurious interiors and custom furniture designs. He shares the vision with partner Thomas J. Hickey that interiors should be “ordered, inviting, artful, and enduring.” They express their modern aesthetic with clean and timeless lines as the architecture and interiors are designed holistically.
Elizabeth Roberts has truly made her mark on Brooklyn, New York with her masterful work on the interiors of the borough’s famed residences. Herr architecture and design studio Elizabeth Roberts Architects has an impressive portfolio of design projects in both residential and commercial spaces that honor beauty, creativity, and history.
The wonderful Ken Fulk possesses a one-of-a-kind joie de vivre that comes across in all his work from party planning to the most decadent and maximalist of luxury spaces. Ken leads a team of architects, designers, branding, and event specialists whose talents are sought after around the globe.
Our last guest this year was the fabulous Suzanne Tucker whose enduring style, detail-oriented personal approach, and love for architecture and the decorative arts come across in her superb interiors. She developed her talent working with the legendary Michael Taylor as his protégée and later founded Tucker and Marks in 1986 with her husband/partner Timothy F. Marks that is still going strong.
