High Point Market’s 2022 Style Spotters team is made of 10 accomplished interior designers and tastemakers—Kelly Collier-Clark, Kelly Finley, Jacob Laws, Jennifer Mabley, Rachel Mautner, Kurt Jacob Miller, Monika Nessbach, Lucy Penfield, Jana Platina Phipps, and DuVäl Reynolds. Shay Geyer of IBB Design Fine Furnishings and Gary Inman of Gary Inman Interior Designs return to mentor the Style Spotters and serve as emcees at their fun market events.

Kelly Collier-Clark
Kelly Collier-Clark of Plot Twist Design hails from Pennsylvania and is a multi-faceted professional who, in addition to being an interior designer, is also a licensed realtor with an extensive business corporate background. Kelly also has her own Plot Twist Design Business Podcast where she engages the black designer community and other guests in discussing the trade, real estate, and lifestyle trends.
Kelly brings a well-rounded approach to her process with design and real estate clients conducting both onsite and virtual design services. She has established a compelling lifestyle brand with her design business including an online boutique and blog.
Kelly Finley
Kelly Finley of Joy Street Design founded her firm a decade ago with the simple idea that people deserve to live in a home they love. She strives to deliver on this mission with beautiful interiors that are “personal, functional, and comfortable.” Based in Oakland, Kelly’s signature design aesthetic always includes bold color and personal touches that result in joyful, unique interiors finely tuned to her clients’ dreams and lifestyles.
Serving the greater California Bay Area, Kelly combines the discipline of strong project management with her creative passion. She also has an especial love for working with young families and restoring older homes. She founded the Joy Street Initiative, a non-profit organization that provides complimentary design services to women and individuals who are recovering from hardship or trauma.
Jacob Laws
Jacob Laws of Jacob Laws Interior Design started his practice in 2015 after working successfully as a Senior Interior Designer for several years forging a design perspective that brings the best of traditional and modern styles for what he calls a “refined, collected aesthetic.” Jacob’s work has gained acclaim in his local St. Louis area and has gained a national following with interiors that are supremely livable, sophisticated, and timeless.
Art, history, travel, and culture are just some of Jacob’s muses for his design work but he is also passionate about his charitable and cultural pursuits. He is on the board for the Saint Louis Fashion Fund and is involved with such organizations as the Contemporary Art Museum, Opera Theater of Saint Louis, Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids, and more.
Jennifer Mabley
Jennifer Mabley of Mabley Handler Interior Design runs a design firm in Hamptons, Long Island with her husband Austin Handler that has become one of the most sought-after firms in that area in the past decade. The firm is in their element working in the classic Hamptons style of shingle-style residences and Jennifer brings her high-end design experience from designing interiors in New York City.
With 20 years of experience working in interiors as well as furniture and fabric stores, Jennifer and Austin developed their process called “Home Scope” that takes all the elements of a property into account for a design journey with their clients that results in meaningful and livable homes.
Rachel Mautner
Rachel Mautner of Rachel Mautner ID prides herself on being on “the vanguard of a new wave of millennial interior designers” having founded her eponymous design firm at just 19 years old. Rachel strives to pave the way for younger designers and with her boutique firm, she seeks to find a balance between modern and maximalist aesthetics and loves to use texture and pattern to establish mood.
Having established her design bonafides in Chicago, Rachel has expanded her client list to include Los Angeles and Orlando and to craft vibrant and modern interiors ranging from small condos to expansive estates.
Kurt Jacob Miller
Kurt Jacob Miller of Jacob Lukas Design runs his design firm with partner and fellow designer Luke Mack in Chicago who incorporate their passion for antiques, architecture, and European details into their design work. Kurt has gained prominence for his talent with Tablescapes capitalizing on his past work in retail merchandising, luxury marketing, and product development into stylish and compelling displays.
Kurt is all about sharing his experience and passion in design with the trade and has featured on national television spots and is heavily involved in industry events. Jacob Lukas Design has collaborated with brands like Lago and Weston Farms and designers like Jill Seale Design Studio.
Monika Nessbach
Monika Nessbach of designbar is all about visual storytelling, as she aims to take her design clients on a journey to understand the details of their lives and how that translates into engaging, artistic, and practical spaces. Monika seeks the “who, what, and why” in every design project and leads a team of creative professionals who craft modern interiors ranging from retail to multifamily spaces.
Based in Charlotte, NC, Monika’s career in international business brought her from her native Germany to the United States and her mission with designbar transcends just making gorgeous spaces. Her firm is also an active community member who supports women entrepreneurs.
Lucy Penfield
Lucy Penfield of Lucy Interior Design delivers bright, fun, and fresh interiors led by her “blue-sky” thinking and a love for crafting colorful and multi-sensory environments. Lucy developed her talent and vision while working as a fashion buyer and textile designer for top firms and now uses a tried and true 6-step creative process with her team to craft her firm’s superb interiors.
Based in Minneapolis but servicing clients nationally from Palm Beach to the Hamptons to Los Angeles, Lucy Interior Design delivers rooms that are thoroughly modern with classic elements. Not only does Lucy strive to be a leader and mentor to up-and-coming designers but is deeply involved with charitable events including Design for a Difference.
Jana Platina Phipps
Jana Platina Phipps of Trim Queen, also known as Home Couture Collective has risen in prominence in the industry as the leading authority on home décor embellishments. Her “Trim Alchemy” lessons are seminars and workshops that she uses to teach “the concept of turning the ordinary into the extraordinary using trim.” Jana has truly found her niche in the trade and her incredible expertise on embellishments and passementerie has made her an influencer, educator, mentor, and the ultimate champion on trim.
Jana has made her mark as an influencer at many trade events throughout the years and she even lectures at the New York School of Interior Design, is on the Advisory Board for the Design Influencers Conference, and is on the International Textile Alliance Board of Directors—among many others.
DuVäl Reynolds
DuVäl Reynolds of DuVäl Design, LLC comes from the world of high-end luxury closets having had major roles at California Closets before launching his own firm a decade ago part-time. Just a few years ago DuVäl went full time with his practice uses his passion for interior design and prior work experience to create extraordinary, customized experiences for clients.
As a Studio Designer client, DuVäl uses the software to manage lovely and streamlined interiors that are a beautiful fusion of classic elements with a modern vision. With each and every project, he brings not only technical brilliance but also a thoughtful sensibility with his guiding mission, “how to help others find their own personal expression and how to be creative.”
